It is one of the most dangerous diseases carried by birds, as if it progresses an individual could cough up blood, have difficulty breathing and even develop into other respiratory problems or even death.

Salmonella

Salmonella can also be present in bird droppings. It is a bacterial infection which can cause stomach cramps, diarrhea, fever, nausea, chills, headache and blood in your stool. A healthy individual will usually not require treatment for salmonella, however if the individual has underlying health conditions it could result into a hospital trip.

Histoplasmosis

Histoplasmosis is the most common disease spread by birds. Inside bird guano it sometimes carries a fungus called Histoplasma.
It is a highly infectious disease and will cause a dry cough, headaches, fatigue, dull headaches, muscular aches, chills and fever.
